Lynchburg's Batten Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Saturday, August 10th, 2019 5 times is the charm -- at least for Matthew Batten. The Lynchburg Hillcats third baseman tore up the Frederick Keys to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Calvin Falwell Field today. The offensive onslaught from Batten powered the Hillcats to a 18-6 win. "Batten was a tough out today," Frederick manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Matthew Batten doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. |
