Season Over for Zapata Wednesday, August 14th, 2019 Juan Zapata has to call it a season. The San Jose Giants starting pitcher learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 08/12/2019 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn labrum and stated that he would not be able to play for 7-8 months. The team will likely place Zapata on the injured list today. So far this season, Zapata has logged a 8-4 record with a 6.23 ERA. He has started 18 games, hurled 78 innings and registered 46 strikeouts and 36 walks. |
