Blue Jays Mendick Smacks 7 Hits Tuesday, September 10th, 2019 Danny Mendick really sizzled at the plate in today's 51-2 win over Astros. The Dunedin second baseman blistered Buies Creek for 7 hits in 8 at-bats. "Mendick was too tough to get out today," the Astros skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Danny Mendick grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jake Baker in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, walked in the 8th, hit a two-run single in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Looking at his present stats, Mendick has compiled a .359 batting average in 48 games with a .462 on-base percentage, while hitting 8 home runs and driving in 35 runs. |
