Blue Rocks Star Wins Outstanding Pitcher Award

Wilmington ace Zach Willeman put up some sensational stats for the 2019 season and has been voted the American Conference Outstanding Pitcher Award winner.

The 23-year-old Blue Rocks star made 28 starts and racked up a 17-2 record. He pitched 159.1 innings, collected 203 strikeouts, gave up 55 walks and 85 hits in holding the opposition to a .154 batting average.

He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jesus Tinoco of the Charlotte Stone Crabs finished second in voting, while Aaron Leasher of the Charlotte Stone Crabs finished third.
