NC Most Valuable Player Award Goes To Wong Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019 The manager of the Palm Beach Cardinals said he thinks Connor Wong is only going to get better as he gets older. He may only be 23, but it will be hard to top the catcher's 2019 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the National Conference Most Valuable Player Award. His winning campaign featured a .331 batting average and a .405 on-base percentage this year. In 109 games he piled up 136 hits, 28 doubles, 4 triples, 22 home runs, 104 RBIs and 79 runs scored. He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 30. Braden Webb of the San Jose Giants finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Corey Ray of the Palm Beach Cardinals finished third.
