Brewers Nip Reds, 2-1
|
Cincinnati wasted a solid 5.1-inning effort from starting pitcher Danny Salazar, losing to Milwaukee, 2-1, at Miller Park. Milwaukee leads the National League Central Division by 7½ games.
Manny Pina drew 2 walks in 3 trips to the plate for Milwaukee. The 32-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Thyago Vieira. It was his 7th walk of the season.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Pina. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
