Multi-HR Game for Sanchez in 5-1 Win
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Gary Sanchez, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 5-1. Sanchez slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Brewers. Jesse Chavez got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Reds to 1 earned run on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. The Brewers, at 56-29, have now won 12 straight.
The Milwaukee triumph was a team effort. Not least among the contributors was Aaron Judge. In the top of the sixth, the Milwaukee right fielder hit a solo home run. It staked his team to a 2-1 lead.
"The vibe's good," said Milwaukee manager David Mendel. "We've got to keep it going."
