Carpenter Hits 2 home runs in Indians Win
The Cleveland Indians beat the Minnesota Twins, 9-3, at Progressive Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Matt Carpenter, who captured player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Collin McHugh got credit for the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings. The first-place Indians have won 4 in a row.

Carpenter came through with some timely hitting for Cleveland. With the score 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth and no one down, Carpenter hit a 2-2 curveball for a solo home run. His 18th home run of the season made it 4-3, Cleveland.
