Orioles Stay Hot, Beat Diamondbacks
|
Baltimore second baseman Daniel Murphy was instrumental in his team's 5-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Murphy, who led the NL in OPS with .985 in 2016, went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Orioles. Shohei Ohtani earned the win for Baltimore. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 10. With the win, he raised his record to 5-9. The Orioles have now won 5 straight.
In the top of the first, Orlando Arcia hit a solo home run for Baltimore. The 2nd home run of the season for the Baltimore shortstop put the Orioles on top, 1-0.
"It was a good effort all around," said Arcia.
