Indians Get Past Kansas City for 4-3 Win
|
The Cleveland Indians took Kansas City pitcher Chris Sale's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Kauffman Stadium. The final score had Cleveland getting past the Royals, 4-3. Sale went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 9. Cleveland reliever Kirby Yates picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Richard Bleier was saddled with the loss. Cleveland is now riding a 4-game win streak.
Mitch Garver made it 4-3 in favor of Cleveland when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the eighth. The Indians went on to win.
"I like our mindset right now," said Cleveland manager Mitchell King.
