Scherzer Sensational for Indians
Max Scherzer was superb against Houston. The right-hander, who finished 2nd in the NL in strikeouts with 276 in 2015, had a slider that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 5-0 Indians victory. Cleveland goes to 64-41. The win puts them 7 games up in their division.

Scherzer was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 1-0. In 8.2 innings of work, Scherzer gave up no earned runs on 2 hits, while striking out 14. The Astros were never able to generate much offense.

"I liked his command," said Cleveland manager Mitchell King. "Max was throwing strikes."
