Candelario Slugs Rangers to 6-2 Win
The Texas Rangers topped the Cleveland Indians, 6-2, in American League action at Progressive Field. The player of the game was Texas third baseman Jeimer Candelario. Jon Lester got the win, improving to 14-3. He worked 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Texas goes to 69-45. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.

Texas took a 6-1 lead on Candelario's 9th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Hector Rondon in the top of the sixth, propelled Texas to the win.
