Victory Pushes Brewers Record to 101-58
|
With left fielder Tommy Pham leading the charge, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 5-2, at Great American Ball Park. Pham, who is tied for 7th in the NL with a .864 OPS, went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. Andrew Miller recorded the save for Milwaukee, his 26th of the season. The Brewers, at 101-58, have a comfortable 16-game lead in their division.
Milwaukee used the bat of Jeff McNeil to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Brewers ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
McNeil called the win "a collective effort."
