Stanton Helps Phillies Run Win Streak to 3
|
It was a fun time at Citizens Bank Park, where the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies tangled.
The Philadelphia Phillies stymied the Atlanta Braves, 6-2, at Citizens Bank Park. Giancarlo Stanton, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for Philadelphia. The win was credited to Lou Trivino in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Daniel Zamora took the loss.
Stanton had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Daniel Zamora, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Phillies a 6-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Stanton.
"Good to get a win," said Stanton, "but it's a long season."
The Phillies, now 3-0, have stormed out of the gates.
