Rays Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Boston
|
DJ LeMahieu was instrumental in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Boston Red Sox. The second baseman went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Tampa Bay Rays. The winner was Michael Pineda, who threw 88 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits. The win brings the Rays to 13-9, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
LeMahieu came through with some timely hitting for Tampa Bay. With the score 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth and two down, LeMahieu hit a 3-1 fastball for a 2-run single. His 14th hit of the season made it 6-4, Tampa Bay.
