Reds Get Close Win Over Braves
|
Cincinnati and Atlanta duked it out at Great American Ball Park and the Reds came out victorious.
Cincinnati shortstop Adalberto Mondesi was instrumental in his team's 4-3 win over the Atlanta Braves. Mondesi, who leads the NL in total bases with 59, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Reds. Raisel Iglesias, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. Richard Rodriguez closed it out for his 7th save.
Mondesi put Cincinnati up, 4-3, when he hit a 2-run home run off Michael Lorenzen in the bottom of the eighth. His 7th home run of the season helped the Reds capture the win.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Mondesi told the Cincinnati Daily.
The win brings the Reds to 13-10, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
