Cincinnati and New York duked it out at Citi Field and the Reds came out victorious.
Cincinnati starter Dallas Keuchel put a stranglehold on the New York offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Reds to a 4-1 win. Cincinnati is now 17-14.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Hanley Ramirez came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing New York pitcher Justin Anderson, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run double. It was a game-changer, putting Cincinnati on top, 3-1.
In postgame remarks, Ramirez said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
