Haniger Helps Padres Run Win Streak to 3
|
The San Diego Padres dealt the Los Angeles Dodgers a 20-7 loss at Petco Park. Mitch Haniger was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5. The winner was San Diego reliever Archie Bradley, now 3-1. The loser was Scott Oberg. The Dodgers, now 16-18, have lost 4 in a row.
Brad Miller had a big run-scoring single for the Padres in the bottom of the sixth inning. With San Diego leading 8-7 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Phil Maton and stroked the single to right. It was his 13th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Padres ahead, 9-7.
"We got the victory," said Haniger. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
