Brewers Solve Phillies, 6-2
|
The Milwaukee Brewers bested the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 6-2, with left fielder Tommy Pham getting the main credit. On the day, Pham was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Brewers. Jon Gray got the win, improving to 4-4. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 2. The Brewers bumped their record to 24-19 with this latest triumph.
It could have been a different outcome for Milwaukee, had it not been for Gary Sanchez, the 26-year old catcher . Sanchez contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Milwaukee up, 3-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Pham told the Milwaukee Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
