Scherzer Is September's Best AL Hurler Tuesday, October 1st, 2019 It was a very good month for Max Scherzer in September. The 35-year-old veteran starter for the Cleveland Indians outpitched everybody -- young and old -- to claim the American League Pitcher of the Month award earlier today. Scherzer ran up a 5-0 record in his 5 starts during the month. In 29.1 innings he fanned 38 and recorded a 2.76 ERA. On the year Scherzer has compiled a 16-5 mark with a 2.49 ERA. |
