Smolinski Bangs 3 HR Against Nashville Friday, May 3rd, 2019 Fans are still buzzing after Round Rock whipped the Nashville Sounds by the score of 11-4 today at Dell Diamond. Jake Smolinski smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the center fielder bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 8 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Smolinski said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Smolinski said. "Three is just... wow." Jake Smolinski hit a two-run home run off Blake Bivens in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Blake Bivens in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Anyelo Gomez in the 7th and hit a sac fly in the 8th. This year Smolinski has hit at a .241 pace and produced 19 RBIs, 6 home runs and scored 11 runs. |
