Waddell Whitewashes Fresno Saturday, June 29th, 2019 Before the game, Brandon Waddell said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Chukchansi Park, the Red Wings pitcher whitewashed the Fresno Grizzlies 7-0. "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Waddell said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my fastball even when I was behind in the count." The Rochester starter held Fresno scoreless, giving up 6 hits while registering 5 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," Grizzlies manager said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose." For the season Waddell has compiled a 6-4 record with a 2.27 ERA. |
