Knight Humbles San Jose
Tuesday, June 11th, 2019
Blaine Knight of the St. Lucie Mets was on top of his game today.

The 22-year-old tantalized the San Jose Giants with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 4-0 shutout.

"He had the changeup working," San Jose manager said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The St. Lucie hurler had 4 strikeouts, gave up no walks and surrendered 3 hits in his complete-game effort.

Knight told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

His record this season is 4-0 in 9 starts and Knight has a 1.14 ERA.
