Streak Finally Over, Johnson Held Hitless
Sunday, July 28th, 2019
Lakeland Flying Tigers center fielder Daniel Johnson finally met his Waterloo.
A 26-game hitting spree is now history after Johnson was unable to make anything happen in 4 at-bats today against the Tampa Tarpons. Fortunately for Johnson and the Flying Tigers, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game 9-1.
"We're a true team here," he said. "For 26 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day."
Johnson is batting .349 this year with 14 home runs, 65 RBIs and 84 runs scored. He has 107 hits in 307 at-bats.
