Red Sox Pitching Ravaged by Montes Monday, August 19th, 2019 Fort Myers second baseman Coco Montes had a big day at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium today against the Salem Red Sox. The 22-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Miracle to a 8-3 triumph over Salem. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Montes said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Coco Montes doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Montes is presently hitting at a .405 pace with no home runs and 7 RBIs. He has played in 8 games and scored 11 times. |
