Cincinnati beat Colorado on the strength of starter Sal Romano's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. Rex Brothers, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The Reds bumped their record to 36-26 with this latest triumph.

Cincinnati won the game in the bottom of the 12th inning. With one out and Mauricio Cabrera on the mound for Colorado, third baseman Joey Gallo hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Reds fans to their feet.

In postgame comments, Romano said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
