Kansas City played host to Houston at the friendly confines of Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals grabbed a win, 6-2, at Kauffman Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Houston pitcher Robbie Ray. Ray went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Kansas City reliever Arodys Vizcaino was the winner. His record is now 1-2. The losing pitcher was Jose A. Ramirez.

Lonnie Chisenhall drove in one run for Kansas City. The 29-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jose A. Ramirez. It was his 37th RBI of the season.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Chisenhall told the Kansas City Today.

Kansas City is now 29-40, while Houston is 36-35.
