Bauers Helps Rockies Run Win Streak to 3
|
Colorado first baseman Jake Bauers had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Seattle Mariners, 14-5. Tyler Skaggs, the winner, improved to 4-11. He held the Mariners to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The Mariners, at 30-61, have lost 5 straight games.
The Rockies got a big at-bat from third baseman Brett Lawrie. For the game, Lawrie went 2 for 5 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 57th hit of the season gave Colorado a 4-2 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Bauers, "and today was a good one for us."
