The Minnesota Twins downed the Boston Red Sox, 6-2, at Fenway Park. Maikel Franco led the way, going 2-for-4 for Minnesota. Minnesota starter Jameson Taillon was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Minnesota is last in the American League Central Division with a record of 44-59.
Franco had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Twins went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Minnesota manager Al Wehr.
