Hernandez goes 3-for-5, Rangers Move to 74-42
|
Getting a good performance from second baseman Cesar Hernandez, the Texas Rangers defeated the Seattle Mariners, 8-2. Hernandez went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Rangers. The first-place Rangers, at 74-42, now lead their division by 8 games.
With Texas leading 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Hernandez hit a curveball from Anthony Banda for a 2-run double. It was his 16th double of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 6-2.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Rangers manager Eric Ferraro.
