Red Sox Lose to Orioles, 7-6
|
Baltimore beat Boston at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, eking out a 7-6 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Carlos Rodon, who earned player of the game honors. Rodon, now 7-13, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Baltimore is now 52-67, Boston 63-56.
The Orioles got a big at-bat from left fielder Derek Fisher. For the game, Fisher was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Baltimore a 3-1 lead.
"Carlos was pounding the zone," said Baltimore manager William Doupis.
