Reds Trounce Diamondbacks, 10-2
|
The Cincinnati Reds beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 10-2, at Great American Ball Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Trea Turner, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The Reds bumped their record to 72-46 with this latest triumph.
Turner had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the eighth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Reds went on to win.
"I'm proud to wear a Cincinnati jersey," Turner told the Cincinnati Bulletin. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
