The Cincinnati Reds got a strong performance from pitcher James Paxton, who stymied the Cleveland offense en route to a 5-0 win at Great American Ball Park. In 5 innings, Paxton surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The Reds have an impressive 73-46 record.

The Reds beat the Indians with some clutch hitting. The home run by Joey Gallo in the bottom of the first is a good example. With two down, Gallo gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.

Paxton told a Cincinnati Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
