Diamondbacks Topple Rangers with Late Rally
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks faced a tough opponent in Texas pitcher Kendall Graveman, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Globe Life Park in Arlington by a final score of 6-5. Graveman went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Arizona reliever Dan Jennings picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-3. Trevor Hildenberger was collared with the loss. Jandel Gustave converted his 7th save in 7 tries.
Gleyber Torres, who is the top prospect in the Diamondbacks organization, chipped in for Arizona with a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Torres said after the game.
