Red Sox Jolt Rays with Late Rally
The Boston Red Sox did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway Park. Nobody did more than right fielder Yasiel Puig, who captured player of the game honors. Reliever Oliver Drake picked up the win. His record improves to 6-2. Yoshihisa Hirano took the loss. Edwin Diaz was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 35 of 37 save opportunities.

Boston took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, second baseman Yangervis Solarte hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Solarte. "And not try to do too much."

The Red Sox bumped their record to 64-59 with this latest triumph.
