Reds Lose to Brewers, 4-2
|
Fans who gathered at Miller Park saw a good contest between the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds.
The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 4-2. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Aaron Judge, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Adam Wainwright got credit for the win, improving to 11-5. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 5 innings.
With Milwaukee leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Judge hit a fastball from Sal Romano for a 2-run home run. It was his 48th home run of the season and put the Brewers ahead, 4-0.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Judge said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
The first-place Brewers, at 84-44, now lead their division by 6 games.
