The Minnesota Twins bested the Oakland Athletics, 6-2, at Target Field. Howie Kendrick was named player of the game. He slugged 2 home runs. Minnesota reliever Juan Nicasio got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Chad Kuhl was tagged with the loss. With the win, Minnesota goes to 60-71, while the Athletics fall to 52-79.
Adam Jones, who is a five-time All-Star, aided the Minnesota cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the center fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Kendrick.
