Victory Pushes Giants Record to 76-60
|
San Francisco got an elite performance from starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi in taking a 6-1 decision over the New York Mets. Odorizzi, now 11-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. The Giants bumped their record to 76-60 with this latest triumph.
Corey Dickerson, who is on pace for 100 RBI this season, chipped in for San Francisco with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"I felt we were ready to go," said San Francisco manager Jesse Vansickle. "Our pregame was pretty good."
