Nationals Subdue Milwaukee, 2-0
|
Washington right-hander Corey Kluber pitched his team to a shutout win, 2-0, over the Milwaukee Brewers. Kluber got the win, improving to 13-6. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Kluber allowed no earned runs. David Robertson notched his 11th save in 12 chances.
The Nationals got a big at-bat from second baseman Joe Panik. For the game, Panik was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 156th hit of the season gave Washington a 2-0 lead.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Jonathan Adelman. "That was the problem."
At 81-55, the Nationals have a slim two-game lead in the National League East Division.
