The Atlanta Braves got a stellar performance from pitcher Mark Leiter Jr., who handcuffed the Pittsburgh offense en route to a 1-0 win at SunTrust Park. Atlanta reliever Zach Duke picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Rick Porcello shouldered the loss. The Braves, at 50-86, sit in last place in the National League East Division.

Had Jorge Alfaro not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Alfaro hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Braves.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Alfaro.
