Big Day for Arenado as Royals Down Indians, 4-2
|
Kansas City and Cleveland duked it out at Progressive Field and the Royals came out victorious.
The Kansas City Royals topped the Cleveland Indians, 4-2, with third baseman Nolan Arenado playing a big role. Arenado went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Royals in the win. David Hernandez, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
Arenado had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Ervin Santana, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Royals a 3-2 lead. It was the 13th double of the year for Arenado.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Arenado.
The win boosts the Royals to 60-77. The loss puts the Indians at 59-79.
