Royals Lose, 10-4, at Progressive Field
The Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Royals, 10-4, at Progressive Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Eric Hosmer, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Kenta Maeda got the win, improving to 10-14. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Evan Marshall notched his 2nd save in 5 chances.

Marcus Semien aided the Cleveland cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Semien.

The Indians saw their win-loss record go to 60-79. At the same time, the Royals fell to 60-78.
