Late Rally by Brewers Seals 5th Straight Win
|
In a tight contest at Miller Park, the Milwaukee Brewers edged the San Francisco Giants by the score of 7-6. Milwaukee center fielder Tommy Pham, who blasted 2 home runs, was named the player of the game. Mark Melancon, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. The first-place Brewers now have a 5-game winning streak.
Pham had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Brad Hand, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Brewers a 7-6 lead. It was the 26th home run of the year for Pham.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Pham.
