Braves Lose to Diamondbacks, 7-4
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Atlanta Braves, 7-4, at Chase Field today. Leading the charge for Arizona was right fielder Josh Reddick. He went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Arizona reliever Nick Gardewine was credited with the win, to go to 5-3. Peter Moylan took the loss for Atlanta. Arizona's record now stands at 66-77, placing them 4th in the National League West Division.
Reddick contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Arizona in the bottom of the seventh. With his team trailing 4-1, Reddick took a sinker from Peter Moylan and stroked the home run to right. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Diamondbacks to leap in front, 5-4.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Reddick told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
