Both teams had their chances, but the Texas Rangers eventually prevailed at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
The Texas Rangers beat the Los Angeles Angels, 4-3, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Joc Pederson, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Texas has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
Pederson contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Texas in the top of the sixth. With his team trailing 3-0, Pederson took a fastball from Kyle Hendricks and stroked the home run to right-center. His 37th home run of the season allowed the Rangers to leap in front, 4-3.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Rangers manager Eric Ferraro, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
