The Philadelphia Phillies dealt the Washington Nationals a 6-4 loss at Citizens Bank Park. Giancarlo Stanton was the star on offense. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Kenley Jansen earned his 31st save in 33 chances. The Phillies bumped their record to 84-61 with this latest triumph.
Stanton had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Phillies went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Stanton told the Philadelphia Chronicle.
