Cubs Turn Back Cincinnati, 3-2
|
The Chicago Cubs scored a 3-2 win versus the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field. Chicago pitcher Jacob Faria nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The Cubs bumped their record to 75-72 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the third inning. That's when first baseman Cody Bellinger, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2017, drew a walk. The Cubs went on to win.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Faria. "But I have better dreams after a win."
