Giants Score Late, Stun Rockies, 5-4
|
The inspired effort of Colorado right fielder Bryce Brentz was not enough to prevent a 5-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants. Brentz was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Giants, at 82-66, lead by one game in their division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when San Francisco first baseman Anthony Rizzo, facing Mauricio Cabrera, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Giants the 5-4 win.
"Enjoyed this one," Rizzo told the San Francisco Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
