Rockies Win at San Francisco, 5-3
|
Fans who gathered at AT&T Park saw a good contest between the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants.
The Colorado Rockies topped the San Francisco Giants by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Mike Trout. Trout was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Rockies on the day. Aaron Sanchez, the winner, improved to 9-12. He held the Giants to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1.
The Rockies got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Brandon Drury. For the game, Drury went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Colorado a 5-3 lead.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Trout. "Just do my job."
At 58-90, Colorado is in last place in the National League West Division.
