Indians Lose to Red Sox, 6-5
|
Fans who gathered at Progressive Field saw a good contest between the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians.
The Boston Red Sox topped the Cleveland Indians by the score of 6-5, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Yasiel Puig. Puig belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Red Sox. Boston reliever Liam Hendriks picked up the win, upping his record to 7-2. Brian Duensing took the loss. Oliver Drake notched his 4th save in 4 chances.
Puig had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Brian Duensing, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Red Sox a 6-4 lead. It was the 25th home run of the year for Puig.
"We think we're a good team overall, so we're not too surprised to win today," said Puig.
The Red Sox bumped their record to 79-74 with this latest triumph.
